Forum > An interesting week in Eve Online
Gosh...I need to worry about this sort of thing again. I'll give it a read soonest!
Stabs,
just FYI - it's AAA not Atlas in Querious. Atlas is up in Geminate stealing all Wildly Inappropriate's Technetium moons, Tech being the new top moon goo in Dominion.
Goons may very well end up relocating to Geminate though, so they could be fighting Atlas soon enough!
Just got more interesting.
karttoon, the Goonswarm CEO, just got back from holiday and apparently wasn't happy with how things were going... so he kicked all 105 corps from the alliance, over 5000 members, and stole everything he could. You've got to give it to the Goons: they surely provide entertainment.

Probably won't have much effect, since the Goons were already re-locating after their bill-paying fiasco, and former-CEO Darius JOHNSON is apparently going to use Goonwaffe as a lifeboat corp.
It does mean all remaining Goon sovereignty has gone, and Goons are locked out of stations so there's probably a bunch of gear that will have to be written off.
And just as Karttoon's coming into more ISK than he's ever likely to be able to spend, CCP announces a scheme that lets you send them PLEXes, which they'll convert to a donation to Red Cross efforts in Haiti equal to the PLEX's real world value.
If he wanted to, Karttoon could use the scheme to donate well over $50,000 and still be one of the richest guys in EVE.
From the SA forums
Kartoon: F**k Haiti
I guess it goes to show - you can never predict what a goon'll do!
It'll be a shame if the goons go away, they are a brilliant source of news items that are good for the game.
Of course having so many ex-goon corps joining other alliances may just guarantee more of those stories.
I'm far more worried that we might be about to lose CVA in providence - they've been holding space longer than anyone else in the game, they're doing something genuinely different to the rest of 0.0 (both by being roleplayers and by allowing neutrals to use their space) and I think it'd be a real blow to the game if they're pushed out of providence.

The largest alliance in Eve, Goonswarm, lost their space empire this week after failing to pay the bills on the thingies that denoted their space as being owned.
They lost Delve to their old nemeses Bob, now called the IT Alliance.
I've written the story up on my blog:
