Forum > Dragonage
My copy is indeed on pre-order and I can't wait to lose my weekend to it.
Probably going to skip it for now; I stil have Just Cause, Burnout Paradise, Gears of War, Borderlands and Assassin's Creed to finish and Saints Row 2, Gears of War 2 and Crackdown to start!
Might ask for it for Chirstmas - should have some kind of window by then!
Yes, it's a rather busy gaming season all of a sudden. With borderlands, Forza3, Dragon Age, and my backlog of 360 games like Halo and gears of war !
Who has time for MMOs still ? :).
Got to love EVE! Just have to log on to change skills Saturday :P
I'll give Dragon Age a go once I finish Brutal Legend & Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2
The weekend has come and gone and I know I've lost many hours to the game already. What does everybody think of it now we've had some proper time with it?
I'll hold off on my comments for now as I did a lengthy bit on it in the show and I don't want to ruin the surprise.
Uhm, first of all, if you don't suffer from some of the bugs, it's a very nice game overall, engaging story and all of that.
There is a lot to be said about it, but let me just mention these 3 for now:
1. The difficulty is a bit weird. There is no indication in what order you should do the various cities and quests. As one of the party members kept rambling about redcliffe, I went there first. And some part there are pretty tough for a lvl 5/6 mage.
From the forums I now understand that some other places are easier. So it would have been welcome to get a bit more guidance in the game for that.
2. Your partymembers do some weird things when you dont guide them well by pausing all the time. Sometimes one runs of to an archer all the way across the screen. The mage does AOE and knocks down his party members etc.. You can make rules and all for them, but those dont always work, I think, or i am not doing it right ;).
3. Not always clear what is wrong and right (in your party's eyes). Or whether there are other options. Like the mother you can sacrifice in Redcliffe. I thought it was the only option (at least not the worst one). Reading the forums there appear to be other ones as well.
That's it for now :).
Dragon Age was verrrry much made with Moral Ambiguity in mind.
I've completed it once and I've enjoyed it. The PC version looks pretty good at full-whack (definately the ME engine - it has some of the same foibles), but the game suffers from an annoying memory leak every 2hrs ish.
Enjoyed it thoroughly though and will take my time on the next run-through. Probably in a month or so, after some patches for the memory issues :P
It's pretty dark game, however on PC :))) it's looks great ! xbox360 should burn in fire :)
Did anyone read the PA comic?
http://www.penny-arcade.com/comic/2009/11/6/
How true is this? That's a pretty piss poor move for a game just released. I can't see this as anything but trying to get more money for content which should have been part of the game.
Yep its true...I stumbled on this one...I was pretty shocked too.
I don't mind buying content outside the game (in the main menu is okay) ....but inside the game takes the pee

Anyone else ordered this one ? I would assume so ;).
I preordered the 360 version. And although it seems pc has a bit better interface and graphics (if we believe the gamespot review at http://www.gamespot.com/xbox360/rpg/dragonage/video/6238644/dragon-age-origins-video-review), i am glad I did. Already read about sound and graphic driver issues, which i hope on the 360 will be absent.
